Medically Fragile Students

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our students. This memo outlines specific information to ensure the safety of our students with underlying medical conditions.
 
At this time, there are no explicit guidelines being offered by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) related to students who are considered medically fragile and school attendance.
 
LACOE, does however, advise the following for students who are considered “medically fragile” and for those who may have underlying medical conditions:
  • Parents should check with their child’s healthcare provider on precautions related to school attendance and at what point it may be advised that their child not attend school if it would put him or her at greater risk.
 
SGUSD’s Special Education Department will continue to monitor this situation very closely and will respond appropriately as we receive additional information.
