Starting in the 2026–27 school year, SGUSD will partner with Elevo to provide after-school Expanded Learning Programs at the following schools:
- Coolidge Elementary School
- McKinley Elementary School
- Washington Elementary School
- Wilson Elementary School
- Jefferson Middle School
About the Program
The SGUSD Expanded Learning Program provides students with a safe, supportive, and fun place to learn after the school day ends. Through hands-on activities and enrichment opportunities, students can build new skills, explore their interests, stay active, and connect with their peers. Programs are designed to support students' academic, social-emotional, and physical growth while helping them develop confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Program Activities
Students may have opportunities to participate in:
- Art and creative projects
- Music, drama, and performing arts
- STEM activities (science, technology, engineering, and math)
- Reading and literacy activities
- Physical fitness, sports, and recreation
- Leadership and teamwork activities
- Homework help and academic support
- Social-emotional learning activities
Who Can Participate?
Expanded Learning Programs are available to SGUSD students in grades TK–8. Information about enrollment, eligibility, and registration is shared with families each school year.
What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
A typical day may include:
- Community circle and check-in
- Physical activity or recreation
- Homework help and academic support
- Healthy snack
- Enrichment activities
- Reading and literacy time
- Mindfulness and reflection
- Community building and dismissal

The following programs operate independently and are not administered, funded, or supervised by SGUSD Expanded Learning Programs.

Options for Learning School-Age Program:
Before and After School Care (TK-5)Year-round licensed child care program operating before and after school; Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. with full-day care at consolidated sites during spring, summer, and winter breaks.
