Who Should Apply?
The internship is open to all SGUSD High School students who are in good academic standing. Ideal PRISM intern candidates are creative, have a passion/skill for graphic design, journalism, digital communications, and/or marketing. Our PRISM interns will work collaboratively with others in a team setting, and will also need to excel while working independently. Experience in any particular area is not required. PRISM candidates who are eager to learn new skills and contribute to the team will be successful.
 
 
Job Description:Picture of social media priorities - storytelling, marketing, etc.

The ideal publicity and social media intern has a true passion for PR and prior experience in PR and/or in social media. This role requires a strong degree of multitasking, a sharp focus for details and an innate sense of urgency to promptly respond to team and media requests. This is an awesome opportunity to get your feet wet in publicity and social media management.

 
 
Basic Qualifications for all Applicants:
  1. Creative thinker
  2. Responsive to direction
  3. Highly driven and self-motivated
  4. Self-starter, takes initiative
  5. Excellent project management and organization skills
  6. Strong writing skills
  7. Strong verbal communication skills
  8. Experience with YouTube, basic web design and platforms
  9. Proficiency with Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
  10. Proficiency with Google Suite
  11. High standards, detail-oriented
Other desirable skills:
  1. Proficiency with video production/editing
  2. Experience with podcast production/editing
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  1. Gather information for content creation and communication (social media posts, blogs, podcasts, videos, fliers, ads, etc.)
  2. Research and keep track of district event calendars
  3. Maintain communication with school sites designated contacts
  4. Responsible and responsive communication with group advisors and mentors
Learning Opportunities:
  1. Gain-first hand experience with community and social media management at a school district office by interacting with our social media communities on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  2. Learn and/or develop skills in useful tools like Google Suite, Microsoft Office, social media management systems, Edlio website management, Adobe Suite certification, and more.
  3. Create marketing, and informational content (flyers, articles, promotions, events, etc.) and analyze responses.
  4. Interns will also be provided the opportunity to participate in district professional development (PD), attend district events, and receive coaching for post-secondary job opportunities
