Energy Conservation

Announcement

The SAN GABRIEL UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is pleased to make available to all members of the SGUSD community a free online energy tracking tool. This free website, named GreenQuest, is a personal energy dashboard that enables all community members to track and analyze the energy use for their home or place of business. We are providing this service as part of the District’s ongoing efforts to educate and raise awareness among both students and our community at large about the importance of the wise use of limited resources, and to promote energy conservation.

It’s simple and easy to use. Simply go to http://mygreenquest.com/sgusdk12ca and  follow the simple instructions. You can then track your energy use and cost; compare our home or business building with its peers; evaluate energy saving projects; track your carbon footprint; analyze your energy use with AccuWeather weather data; and as an option, obtain an ENERGY STAR building rating (for commercial buildings). This service is provided completely free for all SGUSD community members and it’s safe and secure—no confidential user information (account numbers, etc.) is entered into GreenQuest.

As your Energy Manager, I am a strong proponent of energy tracking: We use an energy management software program to track the utility bills for all of our district buildings and we have found it to be invaluable. When you want to save energy and reduce your carbon emissions, the first step is to track your usage. With GreenQuest, we’re giving every household and business in the district a powerful tool to do the same thing. Please feel free to call me at 626-451-5406 or e-mail me at carney_g@sgusd.k12.ca.us with any questions or comments. Sincerely, George Carney, Energy Education Specialist, San Gabriel USD
