Celine Ma 7th Grade represented JMS in the All – State Junior High School Honor Orchestra on the cello. She was one of only 9 cellos in the 7th grade, in an orchestra of 80 students from all over California. Students rehearsed for three days before performing for music educators and directors from all over California, at the San Jose Performing Arts Center on February 19.
Julia Magallanes 8th Grade represented JMS in the All – State Junior High School Honor Choir, as a second soprano. There were over 400 students that auditioned, and only 154 students were selected from over 40 middle schools, junior highs, and high schools from throughout the state. Students rehearsed for 2 full days before their public performance on Feb 18 at the historic Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph in San Jose.
We congratulate our two students Celine and Julia on a job well done, and for representing our school and district with distinction!
The JMS music department will also be presenting several spring concerts, which these students will be performing at. Save the dates and support our talented students!
